DISCOVERY WEEK

June 8–12 in Scottsdale & June 15–19 in Gilbert

 

Turn summer into an adventure your kids will never forget! STEM Discovery Week is a one-of-a-kind program that combines exciting real-world experiences with intentional, hands-on learning. Students will visit 5 engaging venues in 5 days, where each experience includes a structured STEM lesson designed to spark exploration and critical thinking. Perfect for all students ages 8-14.

From high-energy activities like indoor skydiving and go-karting to interactive environments like aquariums and team-based challenges, students do more than participate. They learn the science behind each experience while building confidence, collaboration skills, and curiosity. 
 

Program Details
STEM Discovery Week is intentionally designed to provide a seamless, engaging experience that balances structure, learning, and fun each day. Each week is hosted locally, with venues located just minutes apart to ensure a convenient and streamlined experience for families.

Scottsdale Week: June 8–12, 2026

Monday: Great Wolf Lodge (includes STEM lesson, ropes course, climbing wall, bowling, mini golf)

Tuesday: OdySea Aquarium (includes STEM lesson and aquarium visit)

Wednesday: Cluville Escape Room & Butterfly Wonderland (*bonus venue! Includes STEM lesson, 1 escape room challenge and entrance to Butterfly Wonderaland)

Thursday: iFly (includes 2 STEM lessons and 2 flights - including high fly)

Friday: Topgolf Scottsdale (includes 2 STEM lessons and 3 hours of golf)

Gilbert Week: June 15–19, 2026​

Monday: Elevate Trampoline Park Gilbert (includes STEM lesson and 3 hours of jumping)

Tuesday: Revel Surf Park (includes STEM lesson & boogie board rental - surf lessons can be added on by booking direct with Revel Surf)

Wednesday: Urban Air Adventure Park (includes STEM lesson & access to all attractions *Some height restrictions may impact students' ability to participate in all atrractions.)

Thursday: Andretti Indoor Karting (includes STEM lesson, go-kart race, bowling)

Friday: Topgolf Gilbert (includes 2 STEM lessons and 3 hours of golf)​​

Daily Schedule:

• 9:00 – 9:30 AM: Drop-off and check-in at the day’s venue

• 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Guided STEM lessons, hands-on activities, and time for a sack lunch

 

Students remain actively engaged throughout the day, participating in structured experiences that connect learning to real-world environments.

Payment Options:

ESA funds are accepted! If paying with ESA funds, please email, info@discoveriesaz.com with your student's information for a detailed invoice and our education information packet that can be uploaded and paid through ClassWallet.

 

If not paying with ESA funds, you can purchase individual day passes or the discounted full week program directly through our website.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Details
This is a drop-off program, with parents responsible for transportation to and from each day’s venue.

• Drop-off and pick-up will take place directly at each scheduled location

• All venues are located within the same general area for each program week (Scottsdale or Gilbert), minimizing travel time for families

 

This structure allows students to fully immerse themselves in each unique environment while keeping logistics simple and predictable.

Registration Options
The full STEM Discovery Week experience is designed as a 5-day, ½ day program, allowing students to build connections, deepen learning, and fully engage in each experience. A limited number of single-day tickets may be available for select days. However, most spots are reserved for students enrolled in the full week to maintain program consistency and group cohesion. Registration deadlines are May 27th by 11:59 PM for the Scottsdale STEM Discovery Week and June 3rd for the Gilbert STEM Discovery Week. 

 

Safety is Our Top Priority
Your child’s safety and well-being are our top priority. All Discoveries in the Desert instructors:

• Hold a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

• Are trained in student engagement and group management

• Provide attentive supervision at every venue

 

To ensure a safe, high-quality experience, enrollment is intentionally limited to 55 students per week/day. Students are placed into small groups based on age, with each instructor leading approximately 6–10 students depending on the activity and venue. This structure allows for more personalized guidance, stronger engagement, and a well-managed environment where students feel supported every step of the way.

Designed for Meaningful Learning
This program goes beyond a typical summer camp experience. Students are grouped by age to ensure that STEM lessons and discussions are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and challenging in the right ways.

What to Bring
To ensure your student is comfortable and prepared for each day’s activities, please send them with:

• A sack lunch (lunch is not provided)

• A refillable water bottle

• Comfortable clothing appropriate for active participation

• Closed-toe shoes (required for most activities)
